The Biloxi Marsh Disaster Relief Fund Corporation
for St. Bernard Parish, LA

Mission Statement:
The Biloxi Marsh Disaster Relief Fund Corporation (The Fund) is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to the people of St. Bernard Parish, who suffered extensive losses due to Hurricane Katrina.

Why St. Bernard Parish? Prior to Hurricane Katrina, St. Bernard Parish was home to 69,000 Americans who adored both the everyday livability and cultural uniqueness of their community. The award winning cheerleader groups performed at homecoming games, shrimp festivals, supermarket openings, and Mardi Gras parades. Indeed, St. Bernard Parish was an average American community whose residents enjoyed good schools, affordable homes, accountable government, and proximity to the great City of New Orleans. Since the devastating flooding caused by Hurricane Katrina, less that 7,000 St. Bernard residents have been able to return to their community; those who have returned are living in trailers and other temporary quarters as they gut, clean, and repair their homes. St. Bernard Parish is one, if not the most, seriously affected populated areas in Southeast Louisiana.

The Fund was established and initially funded with one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) by Biloxi Marsh Lands Corporation (PINK SHEETS: BLMC) as a way to help the residents of St. Bernard return and rebuild their once great community. While other hurricane relief funds exist to help residents of southeast Louisiana with a variety of recovery issues, The Biloxi Marsh Disaster Relief Fund is the only fund specifically dedicated to helping the families, individuals and businesses of this typical American community return and rebuild.

BLMC to Match Donations In addition to its initial funding of $150,000, BLMC has made a commitment to match fifty cents ($.50) of each dollar ($1.00) donated to The Fund by third parties. This commitment to match funds donated by third parties is limited to the first three hundred thousand ($300,000) received by the Fund from third parties. BLMC challenges other companies, entities and individuals to donate to the Fund so that BLMC can fulfill its matching commitment.

Knowledge of St. Bernard Parish – Appointed to the Fund’s board of directors will always be two local St. Bernard Parish community leaders. This a requirement of the By-Laws and is designed to provide the board of directors local knowledge to help indentify needed causes for which the fund may grant monies.
